A criminal defence solicitor in Cavan says the new model doesn't reflect the reality of how criminal cases work.
Today, solicitors from all around the country are travelling to Dublin to outline concerns with members of the Oireachtas.
This follows the ongoing legal dispute, as solicitor have withdrawn their services over the new legal aid payments scheme.
The scheme, which came into effect on July 1st, brings in a flat fee payment per client, as opposed to a payment for each court appearance.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning, Cavan solicitor Niall Fox said the new system doesn't reflect the reality of how criminal cases work.
