No children seen by school dental programme in Monaghan

Local TD Cathy Bennett says it's "astonishing" that zero children from the schools dental programme in Co Monaghan have been seen.

The Sinn Fein representative confirmed that there are currently 832 school children on the waiting list in Co Monaghan which she says is "simply not good enough for our children and their teeth."

Deputy Bennett says it's "astonishing" to know that Government our not acting on this and ensuring that all children receive a dental appointment before they leave national school.

Speaking to Northern Sound, Deputy Bennett described the current situation as "not good enough."

She is calling on the Minister for Health to act on this urgently, adding that "our children's oral health must be prioritised."
