A tender has been published for a new HSE transport service for Cavan and Monaghan.
The new non-emergency transport service would provide day journeys to facilities such as primary care centres.
The tender published by the HSE is seeking a third party provider to provide a service for the co-ordination and management of Non Emergency Transport for HSE Community Services in Cavan and Monaghan. It would involve the establishment of an approved list of transport provider and the management of the day-to-day provision of non-emergency transport for a patient, staff member, attendant or member of the general public. Journeys would be provided on-request or via timetable and would be carried out by a Taxi, Minibus, Wheelchair Accessible Taxi or Wheelchair Accessible Minibus. Scheduled journeys would typically include transport of HSE Service Users to and from designated day services such as Primary Care, Disability Services, Mental Health Services and Older Person Services. The tender requirements list 17 services in Cavan and Monaghan, including Rehabcare Monaghan and Virginia Primary Care Centre, which must be included in timetables.
The estimated value of the tender is €1.2 million.
The closing date is the 17th of June.
