Close to 90 fixed charge notices have been issued for dangerous misuse of e-scooters locally since 2024.
That's according to recent figures published by Minister Jim O'Callaghan in response to a parliamentary question.
New laws were introduced to combat anti-social and dangerous misuse of e-scooters, e-bikes and scramblers on May 20th, 2024.
86 fixed charge notices were issued across the Louth-Cavan-Monaghan Garda division since the legislation began two years ago.
Nationally, just over 1,600 fixed charge notices were issued, while so far this year, 754 e-scooters were seized as of March 31st.
