Award-winning poet and writer Dr Victoria Kennefick is this year's adjudicator for the 2026 Patrick Kavanagh Award, which is now open for entries.
The Patrick Kavanagh Award is now in its 54th year and continues to support emerging poets living in Ireland or with Irish heritage.
Darren McCreesh is the manager of The Patrick Kavanagh Centre in Inniskeen.
Darren said the award remains an important stepping stone for poets at the beginning of their publishing journey.
The closing date for submissions is 5pm on Thursday, 23rd July, with the winner to be announced on the opening night of Kavanagh Weekend in Inniskeen on Friday, 25th September.
The winning poet will receive a €2,000 prize.
