Rainfall warning for region remains in place until noon

Matthew Martin from Met Eireann has warned that there is still potential for flooding.

Yellow rainfall warnings for both Cavan and Monaghan will remain in place until noon today.

Meanwhile, orange warnings for heavy rain have been scaled back.

The alerts for Wicklow, Waterford and Dublin will all now end at 9am.

In Louth the orange weather warning will cease at midday.

Yellow rainfall warnings issued in other counties also expire at 9am, apart from Cavan, Monaghan and Meath which remain in place until noon.
