Over €1.2 million has been allocated for the upgrade of small roads and laneways across the region.
The additional funding comes under the Local Improvement Scheme.
The scheme involves the state and homeowners jointly paying for the upgrade of small roads and laneways.
Just over €892,000 had already been allocated to the Northern Sound region this year, while an additional €1.2 million was announced this morning.
This includes €588,000 in Co. Monaghan and €662,000 in Co. Cavan.
This brings to €2.1 million the total allocation in the Northern Sound region for 2025.
