A retired Cavan Garda says no Irish government is willing to implement the measures necessary to effectively deal with crime, public disorder and anti-social behaviour.
John Wilson spoke on the Joe Finnegan show this morning about concerns around the scourge of shoplifting.
He noted that shoplifting is not a victimless crime, and the narrative that people are stealing due to be unable to afford food is false.
He added that shopowners are often operating on very small profit margins, and thieving can drive people out of business.
