The newly refurbished St Augustine's Hall, Farnham Street, Cavan Town has been turned into an adult education centre.
The centre will be run by the CMETB.
A number of courses will now be available at the course, including IT, childcare, language skills, and culinary skills.
St. Augustine's Hall was built in 1839, and has served as a school, a seminary, a childcare centre, and a parish hall.
The hall is a protected property in the centre of Cavan Town, and is very accessible using public transport.
Local TD Brendan Smith has welcomed the news.
Speaking to Northern Sound, the Co. Cavan man complimented all those involved in the project.
Deputy Smith said: "I want to compliment Fr. Kevin Fay, the parish council, and the parish finance commitee in Cavan Town, and Cavan Monaghan ETB, on their initiative in locating and centralising adult education services in one location.
"The hall was built in 1839. It served as a school in its early days. Then it became a big community centre hall for parish use. More recently I recall visiting it as a childcare centre.
"Then it became old fashioned, out dated, need refurbishment. It was vacant for a number of years.
"There has been a major refurbishment and upgrade. Its great to see such an iconic building in such good shape," Deputy Smith added.
