A new standalone Sligo Rape Crisis Centre for Co Cavan has opened in Ballyjamesduff.
Sligo Rape Crisis Centre provides counselling and support services across Sligo, Leitrim and Cavan to people affected by sexual violence.
The free, confidential service acts as a safe space for people to get support and heal from the trauma of rape, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse and any other forms of sexual violence.
SRCC counselling and support services have been available in Cavan for a number of years in partnership with local Family Resource Centres, and due to rising demand for the service, a new standalone centre has opened.
The Sunrise Counselling Centre was officially opened by Cathaoirleach John Paul Feeley on Friday 17th April.
SRCC services are available by appointment Monday to Friday. In order to access counselling, SRCC can be contacted on 1800 750 780 where an assessment appointment can be arranged.
This freephone helpline is open Monday-Friday and members of staff are also available to offer information and support. Counselling and support is available in person, by telephone and online.
