Today in Cavan a solemn event is planned to mark the fourth anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.
The commemoration will take place today, from 17:00 to 19:00, in the Central Library, Cavan.
The Association of Ukrainians in the Republic of Ireland - or AURI - has organised the gathering to honour the resilience and courage of the Ukrainian people, remember those who have suffered and sacrificed, and reaffirm our collective commitment to justice and peace.
As in previous years, members of the Ukrainian and Irish communities will gather to remember those affected by the war and to stand together in solidarity.
The programme will include a short remembrance ceremony, a minute of silence, candle-lighting, and a screening of a documentary film.
AURI says people's "presence at this event would greatly honour us and will be a meaningful gesture of solidarity with Ukrainian people.
Sergiy Balan is the Chairman of the Ukrainian Association in Ireland and he has been living in Cavan for the last 25 years.
Speaking to Northern Sound Mr Balan outlined that the event is also to remember what is currently going on in Ukraine.
