A Monaghan Senator has sought an update on CCTV schemes.
Robbie Gallagher addressed the Seanad this morning, seeking an update on the CCTV scheme and the plans to ensure its availability in Carrickmacross.
He noted that CCTV scheme offers significant benefits for communities, homes and businesses by deterring crimes and improving overall safety.
He added that visible cameras discourage vandalism, antisocial behaviour, trespassing and can create an overall safer environment.
Addressing the Seanad he asked for an update for Carrickmacross.
In response, Minister for justice, home affairs and migration, Jim O'Callaghan acknowledged the importance of the scheme for communities.
However he did not have a specific date for when it would come to Carrickmacross.
