Monaghan jerseys are flying off the shelves ahead of this Sunday's Ulster Final.
That's according to local sport shop owner, Dermott McDermott.
Based in Monaghan Town, McDermott's Sports Centre has been selling Monaghan merchandise since 1978.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Dermott explained that it was the 1979 Ulster Final that kick-started the family business.
Back then, there were no jerseys for sale. Dermott remembers his mother sewing hats, flags, and headbands.
The Monaghan man remembers the first Monaghan jersey they got in store, in 1985.
Dermott said: "There was no real replica jerseys back then.
"We would have had the 85' jersey, that was when it started. It only really kicked into gear in the late 90s'.
"It's huge business now, but it grows bigger every year. You've home jerseys, away jerseys, keepers jerseys," he added.
Ahead of the big game this weekend, Dermott said that he is flat out serving Monaghan fans.
He explained the reason Monaghan jerseys are so popular.
"With the team now, it is fashionable to wear a Monaghan jersey.
"It's great. It used to be the Premier League jersey was the big winner, now it's the local GAA jersey.
"I'm very proud of the team, it's great to have local heroes that our young people can identify with. That's why the jerseys sell well," Dermott explained.
