Met Éireann has issued a status yellow rain warning for Co. Monaghan.
The warning is valid from 3 a.m on Thursday, February 5th until Friday, February 6th at 3am.
The national forecaster has advised that further rain falling on already saturated ground, combined with high river levels, could lead to localised flooding.
It may also lead to river flooding, and difficult travel conditions.
The warning has also been issued to Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Louth, Wexford, and Tipperary.
A status orange rain warning is in place for Wicklow and Waterford.
