Scotstown setup a Monaghan SFC semi-final with Clontibret after a convincing 14-point win over Latton.
Scotstown had far too much for Latton winning out 1-22 to 11-points, having led 1-9 to seven-points at half-time.
Jack McCarron’s 13th minute two-pointer putting Scotstown six points to two ahead. Scotstown scores coming from Kieran Hughes, Nicholas Sherlock, Max Maguire 0-2.
Whereas, a Stephen McCabe two-pointer accounting for Latton’s only score to that point.
Matthew Maguire tagged on a point to make it a five point game a minute later. Christopher Rice sent over Latton’s third point of the day in response. Eoin Duffy made it a three point game on 18 minutes.
Nicholas Sherlock’s second point of the day made it eight points to four on 19 minutes. A Kieran Duffy two-pointer brought Latton within two points on 23 minutes.
Darragh Dempsey made it a one-point game before Jack McCarron restored Scotstown’s two-point lead. The game swung in Scostown’s favour when Michael McCarville found the net two minutes from time.
Scostown led 1-9 to seven points at half-time. Nicholas Sherlock opened the second-half scoring moving Scotstown six points clear. A Darragh Dempsey point and a Aaron Mulligan free brought it back to a four point game.
However, a Jack McCarron free, single points from Matthew and Max Maguire and a Tommy Mallen 2-pointer moved Scotstown 1-17 to nine points clear.

Aaron Mulligan sent over a two-pointer for Latton three minutes from time. However, the game was long gone.
Two Max Maguire points wrapped up a 1-21 to 11-point win for Scotstown who will meet Clontibret in next week’s Monaghan SFC semi-final. Inniskeen will face Magheracloone in the other semi-final.
