Tearmann Cavan-Monaghan has helped 300 domestic abuse victims over the last year.
Siobhan McKenna who has worked with the service for nearly 30 years revealed the figures at a recent sitting of the Local Community Partnership Programme which was held at the Peace Campus in Monaghan Town.
According to Siobhan, the service offered support to 297 women and three men during 2025.
The age of those who availed of the service in 2025 ranged from 15 to 82 and during 2025 Tearmann also provided a total of 2,300 interventions.
Siobhan also revealed stark figures that approximately 1 in 3 women aged 15 and older have been subjected to physical or sexual violence in their lifetime, mostly by an intimate partner.
Jodie Curran spoke with Siobhan and began by asking her what the main reasons were that stops victims from reaching out for help.
