Action day against domestic abuse taking place across region today. A day of action against domestic violence is taking place today across Cavan and Monaghan.
People are asked to 'Go Purple' today! They can take part by wearing it; eating it; or decorating their surroundings with purple. Sergeant Cathal Buggy is with the Cavan Community Engagement Unit. According to Sergeant Buggy, Gardai have been extremely "proactive" over the last number of years. Indeed, working closely with external agencies who work in the area of domestic abuse. Those agencies include Tearmann Cavan/Monaghan.
Furthermore, in solidarity with victims, and in support of this initiative, he says all garda members attached to the Cavan Community Engagement area will display a purple ribbon on their lapel today. Moreover, if you are a victim of domestic violence, Sergeant Buggy is encouraging you to seek advice and support.
