Listen Back: Cavan cancer survivor urges locals to support annual 'strip and dip'

This year's annual strip and dip is taking things back in time and turning the beach into the ultimate 80s party as we attempt to set a Guinness World Record.

This will be the largest gathering of people dressed in 1980s clothing attempt and will take place on the 6th June at Magheramore Beach in Wicklow.

But while the day will be filled with fun, laughter and unforgettable moments, the reason behind it is deeply meaningful.

Every year Aoibheann’s Pink Tie, Ireland’s national children’s cancer charity, provides vital support to families whose children are undergoing cancer treatment.

One of the biggest challenges for many families travelling to Dublin for treatment is the cost of accommodation.

In 2017 Anne Taylor from Munterconnaught had surgery to remove a cancerous tumour on her throat.

Since the she has been on a mission to remind people that there is life after cancer.

Jodie Curran been speaking with Anne about this year's strip and dip which she is taking part in and why it's so important for people to support his special cause:
