The EU has implemented a ban on meat from that country due to the presence of antibiotics in Brazilian animals.
Irish opposition to the use of the drugs came up during discussions on the Mercosur trade deal last year.
Co. Cavan farmer, Adam Woods, is the editor of the Irish Farmers Journal.
Last year he travelled to Brazil, where he highlighted how antibiotics are readily available in Brazilian herds.
