Listen Back: Co Monaghan farming family highlight dog attacks on sheep. On the 19th of January 2025, a Co Monaghan farming family suffered a horrific dog attack on their flock of sheep; Moreover, this was the fourth attack in five years.
Furthermore, in the aftermath of this attack, Eamon Monahan; along with daughter Niamh made the decision to begin a campaign for meaningful change on behalf of all sheep farmers; who have experienced the same horrific events.
To highlight the scale of this growing problem, they distributed two surveys to sheep farmers across the country to gather data on the true impact of dog attacks on livestock.
Last week they proudly presented their story and their findings from the dog attacks on sheep survey and key requests in Leinster House.
They were speaking for sheep farmers across Ireland affected by dog attacks and worrying.
Ronan Gargan spoke in detail to Niamh and Eamon who are from Inniskeen following their presentation in Leinster House.
