One of the midlands’ biggest employers is Grant Engineering in Birr, Co Offaly. The company was established in 1977 and is one of the country’s leading boiler manufacturers. It employs 400 people at its base in Crinkle, Birr, and a further 75 in the UK.

Earlier this month Stephen Grant, Managing Director of Grant Engineering spoke to Eoghan Murphy on The Bottom Line and outlined his grave concerns about Brexit. He first told Eoghan about the business.
