Majella is fighting for her seven year old son to receive his "Assessment of Needs".
The HSE has advised her that it will be over 4 years before he is seen for this by their local Child Development Team. She spoke to The Joe Finnegan Show today to explain their situation.
Without an Assessment of Needs, children with disabilities cannot access basic services such as speech and language therapy, or obtain SNA support while in school.
Figures released to Fianna Fáil Deputy Niamh Smyth show that the number of overdue assessments has now increased to 4,042 with 177 cases overdue in Cavan-Monaghan alone.
