Stand-Up week took place across the country last week in schools in order to raise awareness for the need to stand up against homophobic, transphobic, and biphobic bullying.
Locally, students in Beech Hill along with the LGBT Youth Development Officer Barry McSkeane organised an event in the school which sought to educate students and staff on the needs of members of the LGBT community and their allies in the school environment.
Following the event our reporter Sheila Naughton spoke to Barry, students from schools around Monaghan tow, as well as other bodies, and the members of the Beech Hill diversity committee.
