Cavan based Mohammad Basharat joined Joe in the Longford studio to explain why he is campaigning to prevent his family being deported back to their native Pakistan. Both sisters are profoundly deaf and entirely dependent on Cochlear implants and the essential support services they have been receiving, in their home here in Cavan. These supports would not be available to them in Pakistan. Also, their speech development has been significantly delayed due to late implants. Deportation would have detrimental impact on their education, health, security and language development.
