A man who threatened to kill a health worker in Cavan has been remanded in custody.

48 year old Ciaran Brady of Aghatoten, Tullyvin in Cavan appeared before Harristown District Court yesterday.

He is charged with threatening to kill a male health worker at Cavan General Hospital on 8 November last year.

A previous sitting of the Court was told that a District Court judge in Cavan had refused jurisdiction when the case came before him earlier this month.

Gardaí requested Mr Brady be remanded in custody for two weeks for the consent of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Judge James Faughnan remanded him in custody to appear before the court by video-link on October 2nd.
