Cavan and Monaghan is set to be very well represented at this years Rose of Tralee International Festival.
Not just because there will be a Cavan Rose and a Monaghan Rose but because 7 of the 32 Rose escorts are from the region.
Hundreds of men from right across Ireland vie for the very important position on an annual basis.
Representing the two counties are Oisín Kiernan of Ballymachugh, Conor Smith of Lavey, along with Gavin Brady of Redhills along with Shane McKenna of Truagh, Shane Treanor from Tydavnet, Enda Shalvey of Maudabawn and Dave McKearney from Castleblayney.
The Rose of Tralee returns to the Kingdom from August 14th - August 18th.
Roses and Rose Escorts representing Ireland and abroad will take to the stage in the Kerry Sports Academy at the MTU on August 17th and 18th.
Throughout the Festival week, the Rose Escorts take part in Rose of Tralee International Festival events and live television broadcast, with the chance of becoming the 2026 Rose Escort of the Year. Speaking to Northern Sound, some of the local lads highlighted what they are looking forward to at the annual popular event.
