If NATO introduces a no-fly zone over Ukraine, it will ignite World War 111.
This is according to Deputy Brendan Smith who was speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show this morning about the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.
He said everyone is "horrified" by the actions of Vladimir Putin and it is very difficult for ordinary people to understand military operations during war time.
Deputy Smith pointed out that it was not correct to say that the western and free world is not helping out.
He added that a huge humanitarian response had put in place to help the people of Ukraine.
"I watched last night, bodies - people who had been killed - being buried in trenches, in multiple graves at the one time," Deputy Smith continued.
"People suffering, people starving; who inflicted this horror on the innocent people of Ukraine?
"Russia is doing it. Mr Putin is doing it.
"His representative in Ireland who is supposed to represent the county truthfully tells lies to the Irish people."
