Cavan County Council is to get around €450,000 (€451,290) to renovate vacant homes, while Monaghan will receive just over €340,000 (€342,749)
Minister for Housing Darragh O'Brien confirmed to local TD Brendan Smith that funds will be added to the Housing Voids Programme as part of the July Stimulus Package.
The issue of vacant houses needing refurbishment and the delay in getting properties ready for tenants has been expressed by Councillors in the region for some time.

Speaking to Northern Sound News, Brendan Smith hoped it could be used to get people off waiting lists.
