Voting continues across the country this evening in the Presidential election.
As of 6pm: Clones is recording a turn out of 37%, St Louis NS Monaghan standing at 37% also, 44% for Corcaghan, while in Belturbet the figure stands at 30%. Also as of 6pm turnout in Tydavnet is at 38% and 33% in Ardahey. 42% in Killanny and 35% in Castleblayney.
As of 6.45pm in St Clare’s Ballyjamesduff the figure stands at 32%.
Turnout in rural parts of Monaghan has been brisk throughout the afternoon with some areas reaching up to 45% as of 5.30pm this afternoon, with the polling station in Drum recording over 45%.
Urban areas are around the 30% mark with areas like Monaghan Town coming in at 29.5% and the South Monaghan town of Carrickamcross has one booth recording 34% as of 5pm.
As of 5pm: Drum National School 40.2%, Killeevan National School 38%, Urbelshanny National School 29%, Corduff 38%, Drumgossat National School 31%, Corcaghan 28%, Latnamard National School 35.8%, Inniskeen 32%, St Patricks Hall, Monaghan town 29.5%, St Louis National School, Monaghan 29%, Castleblayney Boys National School 26.7%, Ballybay 28%, Carrickmacross one booth at 34% and St Tiarnachs's Clones 30.1%.
In Cavan turn out is picking up, as of 3.30pm at Knocktemple National School 25%, St Clare's NS Ballyjamesduff is at 26%, St Anne's NS Bailieboro 27%, while at St Michael's NS Cootehill is at 27.3%. Bruskey has a figure of 26% as of 5pm.
Redhills is recording a turnout figure of 25% as of 4pm. Belturbet as of 3.30pm was at a low 15% turnout along with 23% in Cavan at the same time.
