Gardaí in Co Monaghan are continuing investigations into a serious assault that occurred in the village of Tydavnet. The incident took place on the 30th of April at 10.30pm.
A female youth in her teens suffered serious facial injuries after she was hit with a bottle whilst attending the annual Tydavnet Festival. According to local Gardaí, as a result of her injuries, the young girl was taken to Cavan General Hospital for treatment.
No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing. Meanwhile, Sergeant Mick Duffy is appealing to anyone with information in relation to this assault to contact Gardaí.
He told Northern Sound; "We do know that the bottle was thrown from a crowd by a female in dark clothing. We are now appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident to make contact with the Gardaí in Monaghan, or indeed we appeal to the young lady in question to make contact with us herself. Any information will be greatly appreciated and Monaghan Gardaí can be contacted on 047 77240."
