Gardai in Monaghan has arrested a driver as part of their Christmas Road Safety Campaign.
The annual checkpoints on local roads have a particular focus on drug and drink driving.
Yesterday afternoon, a driver was arrested after failing a drugs test for cannabis.

Meanwhile in Cavan, two vehicles were seized in Cootehill as part of Operation Fanacht.
One where a driver had no driving licence or insurance, and the other where a van hadn’t been taxed in almost two years.
