Aughnamullen Parish Church has been granted planning permission for a new interactive memorial centre in memory of the late TD and Senator Billy Fox.
Billy Fox was the only member of the Oireachtas to have lost their life during the Troubles and he is buried on the site, which is a cross-community graveyard.
The interactive memorial will be located to the northwestern side of the nave within the Church, which is a protected structure - the nave will continue to be used as the main place of worship in the Church.

The development will also see several other renovations made to the Church, including the re-slating of the roof, the installation of new heating and electrical systems, and a new staircase for entry to the choir balcony.
