The "Established Entrepreneur" award recognises longstanding businesses with a pedigree of growth and innovation.

Ciaran Marron, CEO and Founder of Activ8 Solar Energies in Carrickmacross, has been named the 2023 EY Established Entrepreneur Of The Year.

Founded in 2007, Activ8 Solar Energies is a pioneer in the solar energy sector in Ireland, helping to lead the nation's transition to sustainable energy. To date, the Carrickmacross company has installed more than 100,000 solar panels across Ireland and works on both residential and commercial properties. Just this week, Northern Sound brought the news that Activ8 announced its strategic commercial expansion into the Scottish market and, in August we told you how the local firm had acquired Allbrite, a leading Irish heat pump company.

In praising Activ8 following Ciiarn's win at the prestigious awards ceremony, EY said the firm he founded is "on a mission to empower homeowners and businesses to generate renewable electricity and reduce their carbon footprint." The "Established Entrepreneur" award recognises longstanding businesses with a pedigree of growth and innovation, contributing significantly as employers on the Island of Ireland. Meanwhile, it was Monaghan's night at the EY awards as Emyvale businessman, Sam Moffett, also scooped the Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
