Gardai in Monaghan are currently investigating the theft of an black Audi A3, registration 10 KK from the Greaghglass area of Ardaghey this morning, 25th January, at around 3am.
It was later recovered at Leggykelly, Cavan.
The suspect is believed to have left the scene on foot.
Gardai in Monaghan are anxious to speak with anyone who may have observed this vehicle on the move..
Meanwhile, over the weekend, Cavan Roads Policing Unit conducted patrols and checkpoints countywide.
On Saturday a jeep was seized for roadworthiness issues and registration offences while customs detected fuel offences.
Another driver in Killeshandra failed a roadside drug test.
He was subsequently arrested and blood samples were taken at the station.
On the same night in Cootehill, a driver attempted to avoid the Gardai but was intercepted and arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of an Intoxicant.
On Sunday night a disqualified driver was detected driving and he also failed the roadside drug test for cocaine.
