Motorists have been urged to be careful once again this morning when making essential journeys due to icy patches on roads across the region.
GARDAI in the Shannonside Northern Sound region have said that driving conditions remain dangerous this morning.
In Cavan Gardai in Bailieboro have said black ice is causing major problems for motorists in the town and roads leading in to the town.

They have said that extreme caution is needed in the next couple of hours in the region.

Temperatures today will remain low 3 to 5 degrees at best and will possibly drop back to minus 4 tonight.
