Border counties may be impacted by UK alert test

Cavan County Council has issued a reminder that border counties may be affected by the UK Government emergency alert system.

This Sunday at 3pm, the UK Government is testing its emergency alert system.

The council is reminding that those located in border counties may receive a text and audio alert, and vibration up to 10 seconds on their phone.

This emergency alert will look and sound different to other types of messages.

Cavan County Council is reminding people that there is no cause for concern and no action needs to be taken.
