Justice Minister Heather Humphreys said earlier this month the judge carrying out the inquiry is awaiting a response to a recent request for information from the O'Farrell family and GSOC.

There are calls for an update on progress made on the scoping exercise into Shane O'Farrell's death.

Shane O'Farrell was killed in a hit and run while cycling on the N2 outside Carrickmacross in August 2011.

His family have been calling for answers into his death as the driver of the car had numerous convictions, had breached bail conditions and they claim he was allowed to pass through a Garda checkpoint shortly before the crash.

This week, Carrickmacross-native and Green Party Senator Vincent P Martin said there can't be more delays.
