A Carrickmacross councillor says a more aggressive approach is needed to tackle dog fouling in the area. Colm Carthy says it is a "major bugbear"

A Carrickmacross councillor says a more aggressive approach is needed to
tackle dog fouling in the area.

Colm Carthy says it is a "major bugbear" of many people and has called on
dog owners to be more responsible.

While he commended the council for its work in this field, Councillor Carthy
has called on the Council to run a campaign to remind dog owners of the
on-the-spot fines that can be issued for dog fouling.

Colm Carthy is also asking the Council to increase the number of bins around
Castleblayney.

The Sinn Féin councillor raised the issue at a recent
Carrickmacross-Castleblayney MD meeting and he explained to Shannonside
Northern Sound what he wants to see happen as regards this issue:
