The Carrickmacross Street Festival is taking place this weekend. Now in its 21st year, festival proceedings which start today are expected to be bigger and better than ever before according to organisers.
Speaking to Northern Sound, committee member Enda Tourish revealed that the weekend-long event will have something for all the family to enjoy.
Enda paid tribute to the high level of community spirit which is rife in Carrickmacross, adding that despite all the hard work, seeing smiles on the faces of visitors makes it all worthwhile.
"It's not the normal run-of-the-mill weekend in Carrickmacross," explained Enda. "Between the crowds and the entertainment, the atmosphere would entice anyone in. I would encourage everyone to come to Carrickmacross and pay us a visit, you won't be disappointed."
