New results from the last census shows us that the majority of these drove to work, with just over 21,000 people driving to work by car. There were 562 people travelling by bus, and 33 by train. Looking at active travel, 2,075 people walked to work, while 169 people cycled.
Working commuters in both Cavan and Donegal were the least likely to cycle to work with only point 5 per cent doing so. Commuters in the county were travelling for longer in April 2022, with an average journey time of 30.7 minutes. A further 4,895 people had a journey time of 60 minutes and over.
