A Cavan Councillor says he is "disappointed" that only one project in his Municipal District received funding under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme. While

A Cavan Councillor says he is "disappointed" that only one project in his Municipal District received funding under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme.

While John Paul Feeley "welcomed" the funding of almost €200,000 for Belturbet, he says the County Council will have to "re-evaluate" the reasons why two of the nine funding applications were rejected.

The Belturbet project has two aspects, which will see the development of a marina along the Shannon-Erne Waterway as well as an extension to the Belturbet Youth Hub.

The Fianna Fáil councillor told Shannonside Northern Sound that it's "disappointing" that "strong applications worthy of funding" were not successful:
