The Council's Director of Services says each application is considered "on its own merits".

A Cavan councillor has expressed concern about planning applications that could see 5G masts placed closed to schools.

At a recent Cavan-Belturbet MD meeting, Councillor Brendan Fay said there were "concerns out there" about the height of proposed masts and their proximity to schools and public spaces.

While the Council's Director of Services, Brendan Jennings, said he "understood the concerns", he added that from a "planning perspective, we consider each application on its own merits".
