Cavan County Council welcomed its new Chief Fire Officer at the recent full council meeting.
Tipperary native, Sinead Sweeney is joining from Wicklow Fire and Rescue Service and will oversee Cavan's ten fire brigades, which includes Major Emergency Planning, Civil Defence, and Building Control.
She holds degrees in Materials Science, Fire Safety Practice, and a Master's in Business, as well as extensive fire service experience across different local authorities.
Cathaoirleach John Paul Feeley welcomed her to the role, praising her career progression and wealth of expertise in fire services.
Chief Executive Eoin Doyle said Sweeney brings leadership, authenticity, and value to Cavan's modern and dynamic fire service and looks forward to working with her.
