A Cavan anti-bullying campaigner says she's delighted to see the rollout of an action plan she has contributed to.
Chloe Heaslip, began "Be Buddies, Not Bullies" following the death of her brother Eden Heaslip.
The group has played a role in the development of Bí Cineálta, an anti-bullying action plan set to be rolled out later this year.
The plan was launched in December 2022, but it will officially come to all primary and secondary schools in September.
Chloe noted that it was emotional to see it coming into play and says that they always aimed to help even one person.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show, Chloe said that a lot of this is opening lines of communication.
"There's a thing I always said, that it was all about asking open communication, is your child being bullied? Creating that conversation, so a lot in this action plan, is about creating the conversations and policies. There could be hundreds of policies, but what this action plan is that the anti-bullying policy in all schools will have a student-friendly one, so that the language is clear and students know about the supports and the consequences "
