Cavan food producers hope to see boost in trade as country reopens

It's hoped local food producers will get a boost in trade as the country reopens.

Cavan Food Network has received funding of almost €13,000 to promote agri-food tourism initiatives.

Earlier this year a new brand "Created in Cavan" was launched to promote food and drink made within the county.

The funding was applied for before Covid-19 but will be used to restart local food production.

Deirdre Donnelly, the Food Strategy Co-ordinator with Cavan County Council said they want to continue the growth of the brand.
