As of shortly after 10am this morning, 140 ESB customers remain without power across Cavan and Monaghan. According to the ESB's powercheck website 13 homes or businesses in Cavan, 28 in Ballyjamesduff, and 17 in Ballybay are still waiting to have their electricity restored.
ESB networks have told Northern Sound they expect to have power restored to all impacted customers by around 5 o'clock this evening.
The electricity supplier thanked people for their patience, Siobhann Wynne from ESB Networks said crews are working hard to get power back to those people still affected. "We've made very good progress yesterday and late into the night," Ms Wynne told the Joe Finnegan Show, "But, unfortunately, we still have a significant number of people in this region still without power."
