The Cavan/Monaghan Garda Division has one of the lowest number of dedicated drugs unit personnel in the country.
Figures show that of the 313 dedicated members nationwide only 16 are located across the Shannonside Northern Sound Region.
These figures show that in the Cavan/Monaghan division, there is one sergeant and 2 Gardaí dedicated to the unit, the lowest in the country matched only by county Clare.

In the Sligo/Leitrim division there are 6 dedicated members of the team, one sergeant and 5 Gardaí.
While the Roscommon/Longford area has the highest locally with 7.
Again, one sergeant and 6 Gardaí dedicated to the drugs unit.
