The main Cavan to Ballinagh road the N55 at Corlurgan remains closed this morning following a fatal collision.
The collision that occurred close to Cavan town involved a car and a motorcycle and occurred shortly after 3pm yesterday afternoon. The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The N55 at Corlurgan is currently closed with local diversions in place. Diversions via Crossdoney onR154 and R198 are in place.
Forensic Collision Investigators will conduct a technical examination of the scene there this morning. Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N55 in the Corlurgan area between 3pm and 3:30pm yesterday afternoon are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
