A Clones businessman says he fears the Ulster Final may be permanently moved away from St Tiernach's Park and to Casement Park in Belfast.

Ciaran Morgan of Liptons says the showpiece in Clones is one of the best events in the sporting calendar and that it would be a shame to lose it.

Yesterday, the north's Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon announced her decision to grant approval for the re-development of Casement Park, paving the way for a new 35,000 seater stadium on the existing site.

Ulster GAA has already confirmed that this year's senior inter-county championship final won't take place in Clones due to a lack of floodlights.

While Mr Morgan noted that Ulster Final day alone covers the rates of some local businesses, he told Shannonside Northern Sound that businesses would be able to absorb a permanent move away from Clones.
