The local GAA supporter said it was "disappointing" to hear that money was going to Belfast as opposed to Clones

"The people of Clones need to know if the Irish government is in a position to support finishing works at St Tiernach's Park."

That's according to Newtownbutler man Johnny McManus who raised his concerns over the recent funding allocated to the development of Casement Park in West Belfast. The Irish government this week allocated €50m for the redevelopment of Casement Park. Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show, the local GAA supporter said it was "disappointing" to hear that money was going to Belfast as opposed to Clones and its surrounding areas. Mr McManus welcomed the shared-island approach taken by government on this, but believes the overall decision was not "thought -through" for long term purposes.

As a result, he says Clones has been left in a state of "limbo"
